African + Eastern

African & Eastern (A&E as it is popularly known) was established over 60 years ago, with a license to Import, Distribute and Retail Alcohol Brands in the Emirate of Dubai. This is a privileged and a highly responsible role, as it is one of the only two Companies engaged in this sector. Today, the business has expanded to cover most of the Gulf Region with customers in over 20 countries. Ownership of the business is a joint venture between prominent investors and AB Inbev, world’s largest Brewer. AB Inbev is the managing share holder.

The Company is a multi-category  Distributor of Alcoholic Beverages, with a large portfolio of Beer, Spirits, Wine & Champagne. A&E is the Distributor for world renowned Brands and partners with some of the largest Beverage companies  – Diageo, Remy Cointreau, Beam Suntory, Proximo, Jagermeister, Carlsberg, Asahi, Accolade, Constellation, Piper Heidseck just to name a few. The complete portfolio from ABI Inbev (Corona, Stella Artois, Beck’s, Hoegaarden, Leffe & Budweiser) is also distributed by the Company. In many cases, the Distribution arrangement is exclusive, covering the Gulf Region.

In 2008, A&E also set up a subsidiary, Gulf Beverages FZE, to channel all of its Travel Retail and Duty Free business. Through that subsidiary, the Group is the largest supplier of Alcoholic Beverages (by volume and value) to Gulf’s Travel Retail Industry. While the focus is in the Gulf, the customer list reaches out to Africa and Indian Sub-continent. Practically, every large Duty Free and Airline in the Region is a customer, in some form or other.
