THE MEADFA AWARDS – Independent Jury announced

MEADFA is pleased to announce the independent panel of judges that will evaluate and score entries for the MEADFA Awards.

Five highly accomplished professionals will serve on the jury, each with a strong background in retail and travel, and all have made significant contributions to the progress of our industry as a whole:

Commenting on the Judging panel for the MEADFA inaugural awards, MEADFA President Mr. Sherif Toulan commented that “we are delighted to have such an esteemed panel of industry experts to make up our Jury selection. They bring with them a wealth of experience that spans our whole industry. The inaugural MEADFA awards are open to both members and non-members, are not sponsored and will be held on the gala night of this year’s MEADFA conference in Bahrain, where it is being held for the first time, and I think it is going to be a great experience for all attendees.“

MEADFA Showcases Growth and Commitment at 23rd AGM

The Middle East and Africa Duty-Free Association (MEADFA) held its 23rd Annual General Meeting in Dubai on April 2, 2024, stressing on industry resilience and commitment. Attended by nearly 70% of its members, the meeting served as a platform to present the Association's achievements and future endeavors.

MEADFA Conference welcomes 313 attendees to Ghana

The 2023 MEADFA Conference, hosted by Avolta, took place in Accra, Ghana this week and welcomed a total of 313 attendees, including 83 from Africa – which the Association described as an excellent number for the first MEADFA Conference to be held in West Africa. Moderated by Dermot Davitt, President of The Moodie Davitt Report, and Michele Miranda, Conference Manager at TFWA, the event opened with a welcome address from MEADFA President Sherif Toulan and Minister Information of Ghana, Kojo Oppong Nkmurah.
