Trevor McFarlane is the Founder of Emerging Markets Intelligence & Research (EMIR), a research, briefing and networking service that supports senior executives overseeing the Middle East & Africa. EMIR advises 150+ C-level executives from a wide range of companies, including Facebook, Pepsico, Samsung, Philips, McDonalds, Barclays, Dow, Oracle and GSK. Before founding EMIR, McFarlane was Senior Contributing Editor for the Gulf at The Economist Group. And prior to this, Trevor covered the Middle East & Africa at The Economist Intelligence Unit.

With over a decade of experience in the Middle East — living and working in Istanbul, Doha, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Dubai — Trevor and EMIR’s analysts have become trusted advisors to multinationals and family trading companies.
