The Middle East & Africa Duty Free Association (MEADFA) announces the election its new President and Vice President, following the resignation of Rob Marriott from his role as CEO of Aer Rianta International Middle East and, subsequently, from his position as MEADFA President in accordance with the Association’s statutes.
Rob Marriott served as MEADFA President since March 2025, having previously held the roles of Vice-President and Chair of the Advocacy Committee. The Board extends its appreciation to Rob for his leadership and service and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.
Rob Marriott, outgoing President of MEADFA, commented:
“I remain deeply appreciative of the trust placed in me by my fellow Board members. It has been a privilege to serve alongside such dedicated professionals, and to contribute to the development of our industry in the Middle East and Africa.”
The Association welcomes Nuno Amaral, CEO ARI-Middle East and Global Chief Operations Officer, to the MEADFA Board. A respected industry leader with deep regional experience, Mr. Amaral has been appointed as Chair of the MEADFA Advocacy Committee.
At the MEADFA Board Meeting held on 10 June 2025, the Board elected as President, Abdeslam Agzoul to lead the Association through its next chapter. Mr. Agzoul brings over 20 years of experience in travel food & beverage and retail. He is currently CEO Middle East and Africa at Avolta.

Joining him in the leadership team is Chichi Maponya, who has been elected Vice President. Ms. Maponya previously served on the Advocacy Committee and brings a strong commitment to regional representation, stakeholder collaboration, and inclusive growth.
