Tours of new Hamad International Airport for delegates attending 2013 MEADFA Conference

An escorted tour of the brand new airport facilities at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar will be offered to delegates who have registered for the 2013 Middle East & Africa Duty Free Association Conference.

The MEADFA Conference, which is managed by TFWA on behalf of MEADFA, will take place in the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Doha on 25^th and 26^th November and will bring together industry leaders from across the Middle East and Africa.

One private tour of the airport facilities will take place before the Welcome Cocktail on Sunday 24^th November and a second on Tuesday 26^th after lunch. To register please contact MEADFA Admin Co-ordinator Havovie Pardiwalla at Havovie@medfa.ae.

Doha is establishing itself rapidly as a key hub in the Middle East region and both CEO Qatar Airways Akbar al Baker and Qatar Duty Free Senior Vice President Keith Hunter will be sharing their perspectives of the new airport and its travel retail development at the two-day conference.

Qatar Airways is the official carrier for the 2013 MEADFA Conference and Qatar Duty Free, official host, is providing the Gala Dinner on Monday 25^th.

Dufry Sharjah will sponsor the Welcome Cocktail, Imperial Tobacco will provide a Smoking Lounge, and the coffee breaks will be sponsored by Nestle and Patron Spirits.

Attended by nearly 70% of its members, the meeting served as a platform to present the Association's achievements and future endeavors.

MEADFA Conference welcomes 313 attendees to Ghana

The 2023 MEADFA Conference, hosted by Avolta, took place in Accra, Ghana this week and welcomed a total of 313 attendees, including 83 from Africa – which the Association described as an excellent number for the first MEADFA Conference to be held in West Africa. Moderated by Dermot Davitt, President of The Moodie Davitt Report, and Michele Miranda, Conference Manager at TFWA, the event opened with a welcome address from MEADFA President Sherif Toulan and Minister Information of Ghana, Kojo Oppong Nkmurah.
